I got an XP 3000+, got errors in Prime95 and random reboots.

Got an exchange, same story.

Want somebody to test out my proc in their machine to see if prime95 still spits out errors

Flash the mobo's bios and monitor the temperatures. Chances are you got some sort of heat issue.

Nice call... Also check AMD see if they have any burn-in/test software on their site...

Whats cooling that hot-plate?

Its a generic HSF combo that I bought with the processor. Its running a cool 37C right now. Case is 24C (doors are off)

I'll try to find some AMD softwhore. good idear

Duh: just realized its running so cool cuz I've got it underclocked for stability, though Prime95 still spits out errors almost immediatly

Duh 2: bios is updated NF7-S 2.0

You sure it isn't your RAM? Prime requires a lot of your memory as well. What are you settings as far as the RAM? You want a latency of 2.5 with an AMD, not 2.0 like an intel. That will solve a lot of you stability problems if you have it at 2.0 right now.

What is the frontside bus set at?

Also, what powersupply are you using? A sub-standard psu with a crappy 12V rail can cause serious system instability. I highly reccomend snagging one of the Antec true power psu's if you're running a generic one at the moment. The 430 watt one is $75 at newegg. I got one in my overclocked athlon XP machine and reboots ceased.

Temps were in the high 30's with prime95 going and ram was the kingston hyper X ram so heat and ram weren't the issue.
