Well I can connect to the internet just fine. AIM works and I can transfer files over AIM, but my browser won't keep a connection. Everytime I click a link it goes to the This page can not be displayed screen. I cleared my temp files, cookies, and history. I switched from Flashpeak Slimbrowser to Mozilla and that seems to help a tad, its how I am making this post, but even Mozilla's performance is lacking and won't display the page more than 1/3 of the time. The page will eventually show up if I click the refresh button multiple times. Its like the connection is getting reset or certain ports aren't open, but Nick is having this problem too, as well as my wireless on my laptop that is getting a connection through a neighbors linksys system. So it seems to be a problem here at Campus Pointe. I was just wondering if there was anything I could try on my end before chewing someone's ass in the management department of this "fine" facility. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We've had a few threads about the shitty service at the CP
Do "ping -t google.com" and after a bit hit CRTL+Break..
I'll bet dollars to donuts (I don't know what that means) that your having packet loss due to their shitty service
agreed. usually intermittent browsing problems are caused by packet loss

Yah do what Adam said, but instead of messing with Ctrl-Break just type:
ping www.google.com -n 100
BTW, just for shits and giggles, do you have any applications to take care of spyware/adware? If not I'd suggest getting the all of the following:
Lavasoft Ad-aware
Spybot Search and Destroy
SpywareBlaster

It keeps timing out.
Sounds like they filter ping out at the router level (THE BASTARDS :fuckoff: )
Only thing left to do now is just bitch about it...

Well I called up management and she said the only person she could point me too was Charter Tech Support. He seems to think I have a spyware problem, but its hard to believe that every computer in this facility has a spyware problem to this extent. So I have been running ad-aware all day. I can't get the others to download, server keeps timing out before the download screen pops up. So I am not sure what to do now :owned:
