Well my 14b is leaking some oil from the inlet side, looks like the seals are just barely hanging on, no shaft play tho. Is there a place or someone lolcaly who can replace the seals on my turbo?

Its not bad enough to keep the car off the road, but something I want to take care of very soon.

Holy hell, problems already? It just got out of the shop like two days ago...

Ask Kenny and Jess, they either can do it or know someone who can.

On second thought... don't ask Jess. He'll just try to use superglue, pepsi cans, and JB weld to fix it.

If the wheels are good you can rebuild it yourself. just do a search for turbo rebuild kits. That, or try www.turborepair.com to have it done. They did mine

No shaft play, no smoke blowing, no cracks in the housing, I think the seal on the cold side just went bad from sitting around for a couple years. I bought it used, but it was in great shape, we knew that it was going to have a problem with the seals, just because it had been sitting around for so long, and it could have gone one of two ways, the seals would re-expand under the heat and reseal, or they could disentagrate, which they did, and now it is gushing oil out of the inlet side and the car is down once again......I need to find a freshly rebuilt 14b or a new or slightly used 16G off and evo or something....can you guys help me out?

Other than that the car is tuned perfectly, the emanage keeps the A/F perfect throughout the powerband, sounds great, no leaks of any kind besides the big one on the turbo.

Ill ask Jess about the rebuild, because im positive all it needs is a new seal on the inlet side. But then again now that I think of it Scott said they heard a rattleing noise comming from it after they had had it out for a while, maybe something else is wrong with it...but the rattling never returned after they looked at it.

Thanks Jess for the leads, but I cant trust any turbos that havnt just came off a car that I can be sure are in good shape. The turbo I have on there now was pristine sitting in the shop, absolutly no shaft play, no cracks or anyhting. but the fact that it had been sitting around so long took its tolle on the seals, and I think that may be the case cause that guy said they where off junkyard cars.

...I dont know what to do right now, cause that new emanage and new injectors killed my bank account for a while. so Im going to have to find a real good deal on a reliable turbo or my car is just going to have to sit in the shop for another 2 months....

So go ahead and call me stupid, ricer or whatever cause I dont have back up funds at the moment, Yeah it was probubly stupid of me to trust a turbo I found sitting in Zen's junk pile, but I thought I could trust it and banked on the seals resealing. It was the only used part on my kit and planned on replacing it in a couple months with a 16g anyway, I was hoping it would last untill then but it didnt last a day.
