Okay, i have been looking for some rims and came across this deal on a local subaru board. Their 18 by 7.5 and 15.5lbs a piece. They have michelin slicks on them( :O ), im thinking...damn! The negative, i feel they look alittle ricey, and thier 18's( i prefer 17's). Your opinions please.

ricey!?! those wheels look amazing. i've always been a huge fan of black mesh style wheels w/ a polished lip...i say go for it! especially if the price is right!

Bro, Those wheels are AWESOME...only downside is 18" tires are hella expensive. I don't know if thats a good price or not, seems reasonable.
I'd do it :D

Honestly thats cheap. Out of all the times looking at other post about selling Volks and knowing the org price of them, thats pretty damn good deal. Trust me get them!!
Also Volks and rice dont go in the same sentence....I don't think thats possible  ;)

Volks rule. Thats one hell of a price too. I'm not a huge fan of dark wheels, esp on yellow but whatever suits you. Still a great set of wheels for a great price.

Alittle info on the N22 michy tire... :dropjaw:
As for the tires, the N22 is the tire that the Subaru world rally team uses for tarmac stages. These tires came on a set of the real Prodrive WRC magnesium wheels that a friend of mine got, but he had no use for the slicks. Google search "michelin N22" and you will find a few distributors in europe and some info, these are not available in the US (and not DOT approved). They have only seen 2 autocrosses and about 100 miles of travel to one of the events, so they have at least 85% tread left. They have never been on the car for anything other than these events. To compare, I would liken these to a Hoosier road race tire, but with better temperature characteristics. They are designed to run in lower temps, so they get warm faster than a typical r-compound (warm=good).
If this does go down, i would be just as excited with the tires as the wheels(<-likes sticky tires)

I got a car for nearly as much as you would pay for wheels :owned:
naw...but really...my crx cost about what those wheels do. Nice wheels though...dunno about runnin those tires on the street...but...eatz your car. THey would look really hawt on the roo! :)
OMG those wheels are AWESOME! and surprisingly, the 18's look pretty good on the subie. Most imports can't get away with that without looking like they got dubs.
That's an awesome price for those wheels. But like Pheeel said though, 18" tires will break the bank. I got Kumho 712's for my 18" Cobra R wheels back a year ago and they were $180 EACH.

Yeah, but i consider these more of an investment. Once i get done rock'in em for 10 or 15k i dont think ill have a problem getting my money back(maybe even alittle more).
$180 a fricken tire!! :emo: :bs: lol. I guess i might need to baby the r-comps ;)
Yeah and a set of nitto 555's will run you a cool $1200 then whatever shipping would be.

But no worries, if a few things pan out by Thursday then i might be rollin' on 18's. :pimp:

U know I wouldn't think about things like that. If you did, U would be thinkin like that for everything you buy, even a intake....get what I'm saying? Honestly yes $1500 is a lot of $$$, but $1500 for a set of 18 in Volks is hella cheap. I'll let you in on a lil secret, those in 17's at cost are like $340-$380....and thats what my cuzzin quoted me and he's a authorize dealer of Volk himself,so yea ur getting a deal. Look at it this way, U get what you paid for and if U wanna ride pimp, can't really do it cheap. Hope to see those on ur ride man!!!

If you don't get them, I'll randomly choose a member of this board...and kill them. That's blood on YOUR hands.

STFU(!), stop playing with my head! :pics: Not only am i to afraid the motor just might go boom, but i also wont have a warranty any more(might need it for the tranny). I am also afraid my dad will notice...we made an aggreement when i bought the car that i could not chip it or put on a bigger turbo, or else he would sell the car(thank you fat beasts! :flame: ). However, what he doesnt know cant hurt him. He wont notice the slightly bigger turbo in the stock location, or injectors, or my chip....but a big shiny intercooler he will notice.

i remember hearing someone call it a "glasstranny"...are they really weak?
I remember hearing it referred to as a 'marshmallow' tranny. Does it expand in the microwave?
I heard somebody call it a 'Peach Cobbler' transmission. Is it really that good with ice cream?
Am I the only one that thinks the $1500 would be better spent on go fast goodies?
I'm with you on this one. Spend the money on a bigger turbo, etc. Or you could buy a cheaper set of wheels that still look good. Or you could do both! :)

Stop reading my mind! Deep down inside, i would love to turn my car into a track car. But, there comes a point when theres just to much money involved. Every mod i have done so far i am going to take off, and sell it for as much if not more then i paid for it(except for a few things like springs and up-pipe). That the way i think about the volks, it like a safety depoist. The money is there, i just cant spend it. Instead, i decided, ill FLAWS it!
Uh-oh...look what just showed up :)

It depends on the time of day and amient temperature of the moons surface. Some hold 330 whp for a while, some blow up the stock one on the first lauch. A good majority can be chalked up to incorrect noob launch's. If you launch it correctly, it can last a while making decent hp, just dont drag it to often.

18s look great on a lot of Imports, including S14's, Supras, etc. But yeah, usually 17's is the limit. That's an incredible price for the wheels... and even if you don't like them, they should be pretty easy to resell.
Buy them.

I don't know a whole lot about wheels, but if its such a great deal, cant you just buy 'em and then resell them and make a couple hundred buckaroonies?

Theres a major difference between "driving" your car and being a dumbass. Accidents do happen, but I WOULD be more careful driving around on those wheels ;)

I think that's stupid! Why buy better performing wheels to drive more cautiously on? If anything you should drive harder to actually utilize them. That doesn't mean being a dumbass, but you in no way have to be dumb to get in an accident... as I've already said.

Agreed with Adosx, i dont get wheels just to bling em around AU, i get them so i can throw on some sticky ass tires and go rip up and auto-x or even a track event. Anyone whos ever done an auto-x or track day and tried to be competitive will always drive alittle more wild on the street then necassary. Ex: Well, let me think here.....S A M
