Hear is the problem, i have a desktop with around 400 songs on it, but it has a few problems, and takes about 15 minutes to start up. I want to transfer all of my music to a new source, but dont want to clog up my new laptop with all of that music, is there anyway that i could use an external hardrive or something to hold all of this music until i need it?

sure...go to bestbuy and get one :wth:
No, you cant.
JUST KIDDING, YOU CAN.
Y not just burn a few CD's? 1 song=4mb = 1.6GB = ~3CD's

yeah, i dont know what i am gonna do, the main purpose is for an iPod or an mp3 player, and if i did have to use itunes then i would want to have all my music on my laptop, but i think i might go with the external hard drive
you can prolly save $ buyign a USB external harddrive enclosure and get a regular ole harddrive to stuff in it.

I'd suggest another hard drive, but if you don't want to go that route, I can hook up an FTP site for you to dump your files.
