In anticipation of my turbo install, i went ahead and got an HKS Type 1 turbo timer. It'll display RPM and km/h. Those crazy japanese and their alleged 'metric system'. Base 10 doesnt make any sense at all!. It also does some other crap, like 0-x times. Anyways, it was a bitch because the instructions sucked and to make matters worse im a dumbass. Anyways, 8 hours later and its in.

I definitly feel more torque between 3-5k, but now my damn car wont shut off..oh wait..it just did. That was weird.

Oh yeah, it came packaged with JDM newspaper. Im gonna put it on ebay and make a fortune!!!. Their newspaper had stripper ads in it and shit, looked kinda like an issue of import tuner, but more informative

thats weird how it kept your car running...

maybe you should have that checked out

tell us what kinda numbers you put out from your torque gains.....

and then tell us once you got the turbo

Did the turbo timer give you gobs of mid end torque?

haaaa....

Ive got it turned upto 3 minutes of boost. im not sure how that converts into PSI. Those japanese have some weird measurements. When i start my car, it beeps, and i think thats pretty cool too.

When people ride in my car, they will say:

'whats that blue thing?'
"its an HKS Type 1 Turbo Timer....its real JDM"
'cool, what does it do?'
"'it times the turbo you dumbass, and its JDM which means it has 3 minutes of boost pressure and killomometers instead of miles, because thats how they do it in japan. Its the JDM model from Japan"

Manual boost controllers suck? And who are you?

From a fuctionality standpoint, theyre all the same, and they achive the same desired effect... more boost.

If you wanna go out and throw around $600 for an hks ebc, go for it.. I'll get a needle valve and spend the other $580 on a bigger turbo, or custom pistons or big rods or a better clutch and some tires, the list goes on...

Besides, my 3 foot wing is better than yours!

Granted the functionality of the boost controllers are the same as far as achieving a set amount or increasing boost, there are some differences between the manual boost controllers and a ebc. For the price the manual bc's are the best bang for the buck. From my understanding ebc's are less prone to boost creep and boost spikes. I would say the best ebc for the price is the GReddy Profec B. I, on the other hand, have the Blitz SBC-id and Blitz ID meter.

I really hope that your turbocharged to be able to make such a statement  .

MBC's are fine, yeah you can't have the turbo dial back boost as the rpms climb to keep it efficient or things like this, but holding boost to redline is what its all about. All EBC's do is offer more adjustability and "supposedly" controll boost better. Who cares about boost spikes, those fun , nothing like getting rocked into your seat from a boost spike

Just for the record...It's an inside joke to Jess.
"Manual Boost Controllers suck"

I do know the difference between electronic and manual. Electronic = $ and Manual = less $ basically for the the same function performed minus a few things here and there.

I just like giving Jess a hard time and I am trying to make him spend as much money as possible. :D At least it helps the economy!

I work on turbo cars if that counts. :)
