I have a imb thinkpad, its somewhat old, and had redhat when i bought it. The problem is that i can get my sound to come back on, and then when i tried to download the drivers again. It booted all of the sound drivers off of my computer. So now i have no sounddriver at all. Can anyone help

That's the spirit!
they have databases online that tell you what sound equipment your thinkpad came from (or call IBM?) - then you will know which driver to download and re-install. It happened to my friend.

Just download the driver directly from IBM. :tard:

why don't u give us a model number on that lappytop
also, if you know the specific model and brand of audio chipset that would be great too

IBM a21m 2628 f2u. The audio stuff i dont know though, but i know it is using crystal fusion for sound. The driver i downloaded from IBM fucked my computer up so i had to take it off. Thanks for all the help guys

Well from everything I find on the internet, it appears that you have a Cirrus Logic CS4614/22/24. That could be the reason the driver from IBM messed up your machine.
What I would suggest doing is rolling back the driver (to the original one that was installed with winXP).

You could always try reinstalling winXP :tard:
