So I wake up yesterday morning, happy as can be. Turn on my computer, fart around fora few minutes, get ready for work. I properly turn the computer off and head on out. 10 hours later i'm home, turn on the computer and Beeeeeeeeeeeep beep beep beep beep (Yes, 1 LONG beep, followed by 4-6 short beeps). So I figured I'm FUBARed. I take out the video card, plug the monitor into my on-board video, fires right up... once. reseated EVERYTHING, nothing works at all.

So, today I went to my local computer store to have them check some stuff out (I don't have a spare x800 or pci-express mobo to swap in to test). They take everything in, pop in a new mobo works great. I purchase said mobo (even though it's under warrenty, I WANT my computer. So i figure I can warrenty the old one, and sell it to my buddy so no loss.)

I get home, swap out new for old, and Beeeeeeeep beep beep beep. What the fuck? The only thing changed is the mobo, so i think it's not the mobo it's the video card.

I drive BACK to the computer store. We put my video card in a brand new computer he was building, same Beeps. So we get a little curious, he puts a video card from another computer into my OLD computer... doesn't work at all still.

So either my video card fried my mobo + videocard, or my mobo fried my mobo + videocard.

Either way, I'm short $120 for the mobo + possibly $250 for the video card. Thankfully the mobo has the on-board video so at least I got a computer. I'm attempting to contact the videocard manufacturer but of course, nobody is open on a Saturday.

To top everything off, while I was at work yesterday, my girly says we're not doing too well. THEN on the way home I see my brake light on my car turn on. THEN at the computer store today it seems my primary harddrive is starting to fail. THEN i went to the grocery store to pick up some lunch, says my card is denied (It's got at least $3k in it).

Someone quarantine me, please.

Friend had that problem with his 9800XT. Worked fine, but then his motherboard started sending the wrong voltages to the AGP slot and ended up frying pixel pipelines on it. Also wasn't getting enough air circulation to the HDDs and such. The final result was he needed a new case (with better fans), new motherboard, new video card, and new power supply.
