With MUCH help from Wiggie (who, by the way is the fucking man) i got my budget beast computer up and running. Anyone who is big into computers probably won't be amazed, but im pretty stoked. I'm running an A-Bit AN8 motherboard with an AMD 64 3000+ processor. I am running 1 gig of dual channel ram and dual 80 gig western digital Hard drives in raid0. I've got an Xfx Nvidea Geforce 6600Gt graphics card to top it all off. O and a plextor dual layer dvd burner. With the gig of ram and the drives in raid0 this thing really purrrs. Best of all i built it all for around $970. Hell of a deal if u ask me.

I am downloading that benchmark program right now. I cannot figure out what's wrong with my damn laptop -- its so freaking slow.

I have a 2.8ghz p4 with ht, 512 ram, 128 meg radeon 9700, and I can barely run battlefield 2 on the lowest settings possible. I just reformatted the drive and it helped a little, but not much.

I might get a gig of ram and see if that helps...or just sell this piece on ebay, get a cheap laptop for writing papers and then a nice desktop. This laptop was so freaking expensive too, i thought it was going to rock :mad:.
