what's up everybody. I'm new to this forum. I've been lurking for about a month or so just reading up. I'm a member at the rx7, torquecentral, sf and club lexus boards. I usually don't post much... just like to sit back and read everyone elses' thoughts. I drove by the meet last night and saw a lot of people but since I don't know anyone, I figured it'd be awkward to introduce myself there. Maybe next week I can come.
Anyway, I drive a black 93 sc400. It's old. It's got a lot of miles on it... 230k+ but it still runs like a champ. Nothing really done to it besides drilling a few ghetto holes in the stock intake box to allow a little more air in, K&N intake filter (a joke of a mod for the price), and i have some exhaust work done. It's taken a beating lately as I haven't given it the attention it deserves so it's in dire need of a bath (another reason I wouldn't want to show my car to you guys).
I'm not here to talk smack and bullshit. I'm just hear to meet some fellow car guys. Granted, I've never really turned a wrench in my life but I like talking about them and reading up on them. Hopefully I can learn something from you guys. If any of you need an extra hand or help with anything just let me know and I'll do my best.

I've seen a few other cars around here that i've wondered whether they were a part of this group or not. I know there's a chick who's in Pi Phi and she has like a 600 rwhp cobra (or so she says). I've seen an orangish-red MR-2 w/ white wheels, doesn't appear to be turbo b/c sans foglights, running around. Bunch of 350's and G35's (most of them look like d-bags, but hey, i'm willing to give anybody a chance). I've seen a red z06 and a silver z06, heard the silver one was modded (dunno?). I've seen the aspeed guy w/ the silvia running around. Tons of SRT-4's and wrx's. The guy that owns Collector's Corner has an elise and an fdRX7 (i want it). So yeah, i'm gonna stop typing for right now and think.

Hrmm, actually not one of the cars you mentioned come to the meets... lol. But, I've seen them all around as well. We do have a couple Z06's, just different colors. I think a new guy has a Z, but he's only been to one meet. SRTs and WRXs? yes... we have plenty ;)

Yeah I'm thinking that orange MR2 is NA as well, judging by all the money wasted on aesthetic mods. There was a chick with a red NA but she got in a wreck, not sure if the car survived. As far as I know I've got the only turbo MR2 in Auburn. Yay! :P

Yeah, but my car is slow as balls. 3600lbs no driver. 250hp is overrated. Probably puts 180 to the wheels. I'd love to hear a cam in there but I don't know of anyone that makes a cam for my engine. There are very few power adders for it. The guys down in Austrailia love to supercharge it but they can get away with it b/c the engine comparment is setup a little differently (not exactly sure of the specifics). There's not much room for a turbo and even then it'd take a lot of custom fab work b/c there is really no aftermarket for the sc400. The LS400's have a few turbo guys though. There was even a TTSC430 owned by a guy up in ATL put together. it looks pretty crazy.
I do have a new set of 4 piston calipers that I haven't installed yet b/c I needed some wheels w/ enough spacing. I got the wheels but now I need the tires. If anyone knows of any cheap 265/35/18's I'd be a pretty happy camper.

Yeah, I remember seeing you on CL back when you were looking for you car. It's nice! Come a long way too. I have some 18's sitting in my garage waiting to be mounted but the offsets are a little too much (don't quite remember the specifics). I'd need some fender rolling I believe, and I don't even have tires for the rears. The fronts came with tires but there is some major wear on the inside b/c of the last guy's camber issues(i guess).

If you do the brakes, make sure you've got a set of wheels that will clear those things such as twin-turbo wheels.. :cool:

Just stretch the tires, run some camber, and bam. If you need to roll the fenders, and don't do the above, this means you need to do the above as well, and get better offset wheels.

Stretch the tires?? Um.. they weren't designed to be stretched, that takes away a pretty hefty chunk of safety factor as well as ride characteristics. But then again people do it and get away with it, which means it's safe. :o

I say roll the fenders or add spacers to get the offset right. My car has the opposite problem :rolleyes:, wheels always have too little and stick out like a mexican-mobile. I should mill them down I think, though.
