View Full Version : Do they make mini-LCD screens that will accept standard AV inputs?

This isn't car related but I was thinking of trying to make my Sega CDX portable with an external LCD screen. I don't know why but I figured it would be neat to do since the unit is already so small.

I know that car show guys hook up Playstations, etc to in car LCD screens but I want to just use a stand alone screen and not one that is hooked into some sort of DVD/CD player unit. The screen itself will need to accept standard composite AV inputs. Most seem to use an adapter where you plug the composite cables INTO the device such as a DVD player since they have the standard red, yellow, white outputs. Since the CDX has a unique 9 pin wire the LCD itself will need to except the input.

An idea of the screen:

The CDX:

I figure I could use some sort of folding swivel mount on the CDX to allow the LCD screen to fold up nice and neat against it and maybe use some small rubber strips to protect the screen when it is folded close.

If you haven't bought one yet, I got mine from Ebay, looks the same, has two av ports and vga port but it's also touch screen (USB) so that I can control my computer from the mini LCD. I paid 185 shipped for it. Check out ebay before you buy, you may be able to get it even cheaper.
