Well here is the story......I have decided to graduate earlier than first planned. I was going to stay and get three degrees but I decided to just get my Psychology and minor in Criminology and get out of here. I am only going to be here until the end of the summer. After I am out I am going to work for the Government and most likely going to be stationed over seas so I will be getting rid of my car in about a year and a half.
For those who did not already know I have a Hondata system, T3 Turbo and several other toys that have yet to be installed. To have everything ready to install it would take another grand. Then to make it a wicked daily driver it would take another 2 G's. So the question is, Should I continue on my present track even though I will not get to keep it or should I sell off what I have not installed yet and pay off bills and just have a good time for the rest of my stay here? I have pretty much already made up my mind, but am curious to see what you guys have to say.

Not going to do it anyway....... Sure that is why I built the engine specifically to boost it. I would not have spent the money if I did not really plan on doing it. Yes I will be stationed here for 2 years and then stationed over seas for a few years. I will be in the states on an off but will most likely have to lease cars.

If your not going to be able to keep the car, then yeah I would sell off the parts and pay off some bills and stuff like that. You will be able to get decent money for the turbo and the hondata, Not sure If you are thinking of selling the car or not, but I dont know what you can get for that...(It does have the hole in the trunk!)

I will put a list of the things that I have laying around at some point. I am not going to be sellling the car till I am stationed where I can't take it. When I do decide to sell it, everything will be in order new paint and body work and all that stuff.
Felix.... I don't know if you were talking shit or not but I am not even sure who you are so I am sure you don't know me so keep your mouth shut and quit trying to start shit. I am asking for advise not smart ass comments from people who hardly know me. Mike... this coment is not directed to you.

To CPmaverick and Felix, It's weither I would have done it or not. I have all I need to do it now, it's doing it right with the rest of the hondata system and all the other things it would take to do it correctly and keep it that way. I have the money right now to do it, but I don't feel like spending the money on what would eventually have to either be fixed or replaced. Felix.... I just don't want to be like you with a fast car but only when it is running, I don't have the time or money to be fixing it everyother day when it breaks down like you have to do.

and another thing...
I cant believe you spent all that money, just to give up. Thats gay, dont do that shit. WHat else do you need to get it up and running anyway. Im sure it wont take much more, unless all you got is the turbo and hondata.

Which is it? You do have all the parts or you don't?

You have to spend money if you want to play.

Humm, I have been driving my car for the past 11 months everyday without breaking anything. It has a total of 170,300 miles on it never broken into (never re-ringed, never replaced the rod bearings). The only reason my car was down last time is because it was broken into.
Oops, someone opened their mouth to soon.
You are nothing more than a typical rice boy in my opinion. I have seen your car, I have heard about your "fully built motor," and I don't believe you will ever finish the turbo install correctly.
Have a nice day.

Joe,
Normally i'd be totally on the fiscal responsibility bandwagon. However...
1.) You've already built your motor for this application, and consequently are actually down on power from even a normal Integra LS.
2.) You already own most if not all of the large necessary components to finish this.
3.) You apparently are in the financial position where this would not be a burden on you. (Just inferring fron what i've already read)
4.) Most importantly, you never know what the future holds. 2 years is a long time, and for all you know at this point your plans could change drastically.
Finally: A Car should never be viewed as an investment. If you are an enthusiast, then you own it to enjoy it. There is no other justification than that. If you weigh the decision and it's not worthwhile to you from the standpoint of a total investment of time and money versus the enjoyment you will receive from the car, then don't do it.
That said, if it was me and I was in your position, I would most certainly do it!

You know, felix, for as "impressive" of a car as you obviously think you own, you are possibly the most oft maligned person related to cars and tuning that I personally know of. You shoot your mouth off at the first opportunity, you seem to think your car owns the road (when its running right, and all the axles are working the way they should)... funny.... you used to think the same about your rx-7... sounds fair weather to me. I respect the fact that your car is reasonably fast, certainly nothing to write home about in the dsm world though. If you think your car going for 170k is hot shit, stop by some time and I'll show you what kinda mileage real cars get. I know off the top of my head at least 5 examples of cars that have over 250k on them, and one that is still daily driven has 310k.
Joe might have what many consider a rice rocket (or just a rice mobile), but at least he as a person has a non abbrasive personality... I haven't seen him getting kicked off of any boards lately for shooting off his mouth, no one seems to bad mouth him after he walks over and offers his pearls of wisdom..
While on the topic of ricey looking cars, lets take a look at the 'ol awd, with its ghetto ass looking exhaust (not factory) and those tiny ass tires... your car looks like its got a lift kit on it, of the two cars (and I'll freely admit, joe's car rubbed me the wrong way the first couple of times I saw it) I'd rather look at his than yours (this coming from a guy who drives a multi-colored brick... I know my car is an eye sore, I make no claims about that, thats a product of not having time and money at the same time).
You strike me as being one of those kids, who in kinder garden would run around asking people to play with you and getting turned down, being chosen last for kick ball.... And now you've got some big ass chip on your shoulder and hafta show the world what an ass you are..
In that reguard I must congratulate you, you certainly show your ass more than anyone else I know.

Well I didn't mean to start a shitfest, but fact is there are a lot og guys who assemble parts in their closet/garage but don't put them on. Just because you've got a big stash doesn't guarantee it'll get done. It just means you had the cash to do it.
Look at Jess, although I don't really know either of you personally, looks like he's the type of guy who gets shit together, and you're the one that makes excuses.
You've got most of your shit, put it on, fab what you don't have, spend 2-3 weekends busting your ass and get it done. Prove me wrong, I'd be glad if you did.
And Justin, you're pushing it if you say nothing has broken in the last 11 months. Shit, you say "the only reason my car was down last time was because it was broken into." Um, no, it's because you broke an axle and left to get a trailer and they broke into it. You've got good points but you gotta back 'em up without stretching the truth for them to hit hard. You're always fucking with that thing. That's how it goes with a fast car though usually (look at me).
Look at Jess, although I don't really know either of you personally, looks like he's the type of guy who gets shit together, and you're the one that makes excuses.
That's b/c he doesn't have school :D
(Lucky bastard)
i still dont get you all that think joe doesnt or wasnt going to do anything. i watched him buy and put every one of his parts on there and the truth is there isnt much left stock on that car and i have seen all the parts in his house that he was about to put on also, so what im trying to say is that you all dont know shit if you talk shit to joe. IMHO (im not referring to knowing shit about cars either, i mean you dont know shit about joe.)

you all dont know shit if you talk shit to joe
:bj: Sounds like a campaign slogan.
My advice would be, that if you are sure that the car cant come or that you wont be here to enjoy it, then why drain your money into it now when you wont really get too much of a return (monetary or enjoyment time).
Look at Jess, although I don't really know either of you personally, looks like he's the type of guy who gets shit together, and you're the one that makes excuses.

True - BUT - I work 8 hours a day and have financially been on my own since 18. Ive lost about $400-$500 the last couple weeks in wages due to the turbo install.
As far as me 'getting my shit together', thats because it would drive me absoloutly nuts to have a turbo just sitting there collecting dust. I sold all my valuables for turbo $$ and with a lot of help, got everthing installed.
2 years is a LOONG TIME. install that bish! You're being a cock tease to your car.
why eat a cow if you can stick your hand up a bull's ass and get the milk for free....or something like that...or maybe not

Congradulations, I did break an axle and thats exactly why my car was broken into, which was right around 11 months. Other than that, it hasn't been down since unless I was putting shit on or taking it off. The point was not promoting my car, the point was he has been misinformed.
If you think your car going for 170k is hot shit, stop by some time and I'll show you what kinda mileage real cars get. I know off the top of my head at least 5 examples of cars that have over 250k on them, and one that is still daily driven has 310k.
Has it been driving around with 20psi everyday?
