Moderated Forum?

What the F? Locking threads? Is there really anyneed for this forum to have someone say "now ok boys, thats enough, im locking the thread". ummmm no. If it was a picture of satan and everytime someone on the forum looked at it they died or its like 20 pages. OK. But if someone wants to continue to talk about a topic, or bring up an old thread; good great grand wonderful.

I guess its just undisclosed terms.

If someone starts a thread to ask a simply question and it turns into a 5 page argument over something trival that is off topic I usually step in and either split the thread (make a new one from current posts) or just lock it.

This in no way makes the topic of conversation invalid, it just means I'm sick of reading 8 pages of useless arguments.

Discussion's need moderaters. If you want un-moderated discussions read usenet and see how fast it annoys you.

Since when did you determine what is useless and what is not? Its the freaking general forum and this board is slow as crap so locking threads is pointless unless it is something severe ( racism, religion, or distasteful graphics that should have a link). Besides you made a freaking rice forum. That whole gay forum should be locked. What Tyler is saying as that we SHOULD have moderators not just one person to decide if something should be locked or not. Especially if that person knows the least about cars than most people on this board.

Since when did anyone deem you able to determine uselesses or not? I usually lock threads when I'm asked to by the thread starter or when the thread simply has no point anymore.

Good. Find people who will moderate fairly. I do my best to be as quiet as possible as a moderator simply because I don't greatly believe in heavily moderated disucssions. I don't enjoy participating in those types of discussions. So I keep my moderations to an absolute minimum. I think I've done a decent job at simply letting the board run and letting yall have a message board?

I donated my time and my money to set-up and host this board. If you don't appreciate or want it, then leave. Go take money of your own and pay for webhosting and set-up a message board. Just don't talk shit about things you are very clueless about.

Did I say you locked too many threads (actually 4.2% of every thread made isn't exactly a scant number)? Hmm looks like your reading skills are lacking again because I didn't. What I did say is that no thread in the general forum should be locked (unless it is like I descibed above) on such a slow board. Thats why it's the GENERAL forum.

ONCE AGAIN your reading skills have failed you. I never said you knew THE least. What I did say is that you know the least compared to MOST (most not to be confused with the word everyone) of the people on the BOARD.

I'll post some things up as evidence. These are all your quotes.

1. In front of a new Prelude someone asked what size engine it was. You spouted off "oh its a 2.0". I replied back with "no its a 2.2". Then you replied again "nah its a 2.0". Again I replied that it was an H22 which is 2.2 liters. Of course we all know what size an H22 is.

2. Talking about your own car "hey its not bad for a 4,000lb car". Greyson and me were like "really" (being sarcastic). You replied back "yeah". Sorry to tell you it weighs around 3,600lbs. Only 400lbs off on your own car...not to shabby.

3. Talking about a 1,200hp skyline with big turbos you stated "yeah but I bet that thing doesn't even spool up till like 4,000rpms". News flash ITS A 1200HP SKYLINE!!! Who gives a crap when it spools. But for the sake of making you look stupid, a stock skyline redlines at 8,000rpms so for those huge turbos to spool that fast is excellent.

4. You also basically said that a more efficient turbo at 20psi has "non-dense air" compared to a T25 that loses efficiency at 15psi. This statement made absolute no sense at all and proves you just like to spout off stuff to sound smart. Micheal and Brandon can back me on that one by the way.

I have never seen a thread that has been unreasonably locked. I have seen several dumb as shit threads started for no apparent reason. The thread in the kills section that was locked was a joke and had no point, so it was locked just like the other threads that had no point.

Adam does a fine job, he lets the flaming go on and then shuts it down when it gets old. If you guys think we need no moderation.

Brock, I dont think it is a great idea to go off on peoples reading ablity when you are not attending school as of now. It is just pointless, cause we know I am the one who cant read.
