I got a ticket!!! first one since i was 16 !!!!

ok i got caught doing 40 on college past the library the cop said was a 25, and so he gave me a ticket, I was respectful and he said thanks for cooperating.

Where he pulled out of an intersection roosevelt(where he clocked me) and said it was a 25, but 100 feet past the intersection there was a 35 sign. i was going past the library up the hill on college.

Can i get this ticket thrown out???? Can you only go the speedlimit the sign says after the sign, or in view of it??

The judges here are definitely not going to throw out a ticket. They are some of the strictest in the state.

If you were cool with the cop, try contacting him in a couple weeks. Just ask if there is anything you can do instead of having to have this ticket go on your record. He can have you washing cop cars or somthing, community service, etc.

Just make sure it doesn't sound like a bribe ;)

If you were nice to the cop just give him a call later and ask if he can help you out in court. You could also get a lawyer and I'm almost sure he could take care of it. If my lawyer could get my racing charge dropped and my ticket lowered to only $120 total I'm sure he could help you as well. His name is Tutt Barrett. Not that you have money for a lawyer anyway but still.

In this case either just pay the ticket or go to court and plead no contest. You're insurance won't go up. Also your insurance company won't even know you have a ticket till they run a check on you, and those are random.

It'll be cheapest in the long run if you just pay it now and don't get anymore tickets.

Lee county doesn't do driving school.

I did driving school. Its like $50 for 4hrs of nothing. Just pay the ticket. You will be fine. I doubt your insurance will even notice.

Got my stereo stolen, they gave me tons of money, no questions asked.

I got a ticket and called to see how it would affect my rates, and they said it wouldnt at all unless i got a lot of tickets within a short period of time. It was like a 51 in a 35 or something

I know nothing about Lee County, but I've been to driving school three times in Texas. They offer a comedy defensive driving class in alot of places that almost makes it worth it....almost.
