Man, theres no way that Im going to buy $100 raffle ticket. (I guess thats because I got raped by Atlantic City last summer)

Nice cars. I really like the pic of the yellow S2k for some reason, makes the car look so badass.

No worries, you wouldn't notice it because of how quick it just pulled on you.:steering: At least his priorities are straight. Go Fast > Asthetics (Turbo > Side Markers, bra, lip.)

Lol, turbo is next summer... I don't have the time or money during the fall to source everything and spend a couple months putting it together. During the spring I'll have the money to source the parts, but not the time to put it together. During the summer I don't have to worry about classes or working 7-5 everyday ;)

But thanks for the heads up

But thanks for the reminder

You act like it would take every hour of the day to do so... There are plenty of people on this board who have turboed a car while having the same, if not harder schedule (Mike, Nick, Jess, the Heebs, Donny, OB, hell EVEN CLINT). Don't use the, "I don't have enough time to put it together" excuse. Granted its been a little over a year now since my car ran on a daily basis, but its not my dd. If it was, I would have done things different but performance would have been the same goal. See speed takes care of looks, because if its moving fast enough you won't be able to see those small rock nicks on the front bumper or omg orange side markers....:newbie:

Fine, suppose I don't use the "time" excuse. Even if I didn't buy any of stuff I've already purchased, I still wouldn't have the money to buy everything I need. I'm setting aside a minimum of $1500 for all the parts and any custom work I'll need and I have no doubt it will probably exceed $2000-2500... which I don't have and I won't have until the end of spring/very beginning of summer.

I already plan on buying some form of engine/fuel management (probably emanage blue) within the next few months so I can mess around with it before anything major starts going in and I'm getting a 14B from Josh (BooostedAWD) along with the o2 housing, smic, and some piping if that's any consolation to my shuffled priorities... I just REALLY don't have the money, or believe me I would have put a lot of thought into doing it this Fall, because there would be a lot more of you guys in Auburn to help out compared to the summer, and I won't have to work this semester anywhere near as much as I'll be working in the summer.

Im hoping I can find a used kit, that would be extremely convenient... used Flyin Miata kits generally go for 1500-2000. People rarely part out DIY kits, but that would be really cheap too

but yes, 2k is very do-able with a DIY setup

I think it is a rule that any thread that gets to three pages has to be an <strike>argument</strike> intelligent discussion about someones approach to a problem. :)

:cackle: lol @ $1500. Let me ask this. Is this the typical get in over your head and not want to spend the money to do it right, regret doing it, never make the power you want, part it out and sell it kind of project or is this the spend the money, do it right keep the car for a long time, and have no regrets kind of project?

No to the first part, yes to the second part, $1500 is a minimum. As in, "I know I'm going to spend at least $1500, no less, but definitely a lot more." It's not a budget figure nor is it a goal. Like I said, I know it's going to cost me a lot more than $1500, hopefully less than $3500, but we'll see. I want and I will spend the money to do this right, that's why I'm waiting until the end of spring, because that's when I'll have the money to do it right. :P

I have no doubt it will probably exceed $2000-2500...

No, because $2500 is still a drop in the bucket. :physco: Ask Justin about his $2500 motor.

I'll go consult the other turbo miata guys to see which bucket they used then

EDIT ~ I know doing a brand new setup would cost way more than $2500, but I'm not going brand new... Many guys have turbo'ed Miata's for less than $3000 and a more than a few have done it for less than $2000
