Yeah so I was on my way to work this mornign at 5:45 when all hell was breaking loose. I knew it was gonna be awesome the minute I walked out my door. Here's my story, so grab a blanket and a warm cup of shut the hell up and enjoy

So I walk outside and the trees are blowing all sideways and what not. No rain so I was like "I can deal with this". So I get in my car and pull out of Scarborough and there is leaves and shit blowing all over the road. Then a kick ass old school Tool song comes on the radio. The morning just keeps getting cooler. THEN, I catch this bright blue explosion out of the corner of my eye and all the power in the area I'm driving through goes out! Hell yeah!

So now I'm crossing Donahue by the goalpost and I see ANOTHER explosion that looks like really really bright blue lightning. BAM! The power on the block I'm driving down goes out again! About 10 seconds later, the SAME thing happens! It was bad as shit. The power would be on and as soon as I drove through a section of street, there would be a bright flash of light and the power would go out. Keep in mind that at 5:45 it's still pitch black.

So pretty much the same thing happens till I get to the college street intersection. At this point, the wind is raising all kinds of hell and the street lights are nearly doing flips around the power lines. So I keep on cruisin and as I'm passing the po po's station on glenn, a cop pulls out and gets in the lane beside me. Now, I'm not in any rush to get to work and my radar detector hadn't made nary a beep so all was well. WELL, right after we pass that veteran's memorial thing, this HUGE tree branch flys across the road RIGHT in front of both of us. So we slammed on brakes and he jumps up on the curb and slides in the grass and spins around sideways and I cut the wheel hard and floored it to try and fish tail around it. Bad idea.... I had forgotten that the roads were wet from the rain and the branch didn't continue across the street as I had anticipated so instead of a graceful drifting slide around a 2~3" thick branch, I just plowed through it sideways and winced at the loud thump as it pummled the undercarriage of my car.

There weren't any cars on the road at this hour either, so the cop hops back on the road, turns on his lights and comes to check on me. Meanwhile, my car is sideways on glenn ave and we're up under my car with flash lights making sure everything is still there. Luckily, everything was fine. So we move the branch out of the road and he asks me if I go this route every morning. I told him yeah and he said he thought he recognized my car (Oh shit). Apparently, every morning him and his buddies hang out at the quicky mart across from Checkers and talk about whatever. He says that every day me and whenever this other guy that drives a fire bird go by, they bet each other whether or not we'll stomp it off the line. He said that they've been very dissapointed thus far and he gave me his word that no tickets will be issued. Cause c'mon, who the hell wants to write a speeding ticket at 5:45 am??.......Nice try ass wipe! The minute I do that, the brown noser of the force will be leisurely strolling back up glenn to the quicky mart to hassle the slacker cops outside and bust me. I told the cop not to hold his breath but if I'm feeling saucy, him and his buddies might get a little spinnage.

Anywho, we go our separate ways. About 30 seconds from work, a very very dark work, I said "fuck this! I'll say my power went out and my alarm didn't go off." So I pass the warehouse (behind Jimmy's) and get on opelika highway to go back home.

Now I'm sitting at the light across from auburn bowl waiting to turn left and I'm still gritting my teeth from that shit hitting my car. The light turns green (still no cars in sight) so I just nail it and spin the tires through 3rd all the way to touchdowns. HELL YEAH!! where I had to swerve AGAIN!!! This time to miss the giant united auto sign that had blown into the street. Then I went home. That's it. That's the end of my cool story. Now I get to sleep all day since I don't have class on Mon, Wed or Fri. :D
