I'm doing this with a friend in Montgomery where the motor is currently. These pics were taken on Saturday and he has since put the motor together! I recieved the wrong timing belt cover so i'm waiting on that and the balance shaft removal kit and I'm set to go! If all goes smooth from here it should be done by this weekend

I'm just waiting for there to be a hangup. :bang:

I just recently found this (maybe this was why my car was running like shit! :wth: )

JMF said to send it back and they'll repair or send a new one. Thing is, i really don't want to wait so we're gonna try and weld it. Still sucks though, that doesn't happen often

Rob, hey man you wouldn't happen to have those pics i sent to ya? no pressure i was just curious.

Definitely bring it out to the Tuesday meet when you are finished. I love 1G DSMs. Never been in a turbo though. :(

Just a few more. Nothing special to update with except I'm just getting all the little things done with cleaning up the electrical, polishing the valve cover, painting stuff etc.

The stock intake mani you see on there is just temporary until JMF hooks me up.

ETA: probably another week because of exams, work, and general ghettoness of my car pre-build.

Hit the valve cover with some more white rouge, then polish it again....

Yea these are really rough pics...... There's still some more polishing to be done etc. It'll look 100% better then this when completed.

The guy I'm doing this with said he just wanted to post something rough cause he didn't want everyone trying to get him to make them (he posted a pic on another forum). It'll look like a mirror when finished.

Well i finally got back into Auburn and have had some time to give you guys an update (if you're interested).

The Good:
The motor is in and running :patriot:
I got my intake manifold back from JMF
Basically paid off this bitch

The Bad:
SlowboyRacing 4000 clutch is spec'd wrong and I can't disengage the clutch :emo:
My mechanic has pulled the tranny twice and is going to have to go for a third. We've measured everything perfectly, bled the clutch countless times and still no dice. It has to be the clutch
We have basically had to go through and replace everything electrically (harnesses, alternator wires, gauges etc etc) on top of fuel pump problems. This is really the last thing i need right now to slow me down.

But either way, i have a new pic and a vid of the idle.

What's a G60 turbo?

SBR-G60 ( NOT A 60-1, A TRUE 60 Trim )

The 60 Trim is one of our favorite turbochargers for running 15 to 25 pounds of boost and higher if your running the good stuff. It's right at home in a TO4E compressor cover and our turbine housing makes it bolt right up to your 1G/2G/Evo III/ or SBR DSM manifolds. This turbo when tuned properly has already propelled several SBR customers into the 11's and does exceptionally well on pump gas! This is a true 60 trim that only has 6 blades so it does well on pump gas between 15 and 25 pounds of boost depending on your setup. Please don't confuse this turbo with the venerable 60-1 turbocharger that likes to run 18-28 pounds on pump gas (very good pump gas on the top end of that spectrum, or mixed with some race fuel). If your looking to run lower boost with the feel of the big turbo on the high way, this turbo is for you!

^damn, beat me to it

It's a Turbonetics turbo from Slowboy Racing which they call a "G60".

http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=4825& - i really have no opinions on the turbo yet since i've only hit 20 pounds (efficiency range is 22+) on it only a few times for a few seconds (blow by). In the future i'm looking to go with an FP3065

It really does have a very deep import sound to it. It sounds kind of like a v8 at idle but it doesn't sound like it when revved. The throttle response is very crisp and it spools really nice (so i'm told).

looking real good man. i hope you have better luck with dsms than i did. 1rst gen is a lot better platfom than my 2nd gen 7 bolt. should run like a scalded dog especially out of the whole like sheppards
