Lose the headlights, tailights, rims, and half of the interior and then you'll have a decent hatch.

Wait the he got rid of the Prelude for a hatch? What hell, is he trying to copy Daniel in every way? Of coarse I also have to wonder why anyone would purposefully buy anothers riced out car. You without a shadow of doubt that the car has been riden hard and put up wet.

Am I missing something here what thought process was used again?

So what happened to the lude?

it told asspimple here to go fuck himself

yeah, I want to see this "engine" swap you speak of.
Im hoping for some B18gerbils
"somewhat fast" omg, ima bout to have a heart attack... wait, I cant breathe
make it stop make it stop

if you want to see some "fast cars" you should see some of our members cars
Swines Sti
Robs VR4 and dannis to
Dixon's Ls1 rx-7
shit, thats not even the half of it, im leaving out a ton.

to be blunt Im not expecting much more out of this car and you but a good laugh. Hondas can be done VERY tastefully by example of nick but I highly doubt youll even know where to start/stop.

specs
# HP/Torque: 178hp@7600/129lb-ft@6200
# Redline: 8200 rpm, does it gots VTEC!?

So lets say its a 99 DX thats 1085 kg or 2392.015 lbs
hope you can drive stick
so that leads me to a bit of math
your ratio to other cars are this 178/2392
lets take a 300whp sti at 3263 which is a lot heavier than your car, in order to keep up with that through a basic proportion you car would need this
x/2392.015=300/3263 which equals for your car 220 WHP, you wont even see 178 at the wheels.
So, just because youll be rolling a B18 dont mean you got big nuts, its going to take a lot more than just an engine swap for a fast car, your maybe touching quick by a hair.

the again, you may prove me wrong

Umm.....

I would call a b18C EK hatch "somewhat fast" - its sporty/fun. Yeah, now I'm a Honda owner so I don't know what fast is, blah blah...I think that a B18C EK hatch is a good car. I also think that particular example is horribly ugly.

He never said he has big nuts, give him a break.:physco: You are acting like he did something besides "look I have a new car," but he didn't. In fact, Pegasus, you're the one acting like you have big nuts

:( I have no nuts
they are lost in the mail so I cant get the wheels bolted on.

Im not trying to prove anything here, but this ass wipe is just annoying as shit and I hate that, but Im trying to prove a point in that wham "i bought a car" doesnt mean shit if you dont know anything about it. The story of making something fast is a dead horse so Im not going to beat it, but by the same token a bought quick car that some one else raced/riced will not cover for some of the bullshit that has spewed forth from F22's mouth. Ill call you out on specs of a car, and by all means, I wellcome you or any one to call me out on old vw related things because if I dont know about it then its a free learning/schooling session for me.

As to your car and his car in question, I dont question Hondas in general, yes they are good car and I will casually poke fun at them in good fun.. honduh blahh blahh, I will question what they do with them as most of the time its stupid. You drive a s2k thats a honda that I consider very very close to an Elise in the sense that its not over powered and aimed towards handling which I consider a FAR throw from a little Ex hatch. I am not here to bash hondas BY ANY MEANS. I am also not here to say I know it all, I clearly dont which is what seperates me from the know all gotta puta tuboz on my car to make me f@stAr!i which is why I post on these boards, but by the same token I research before I ask dumb ass questions as to how do I boosted my motor? So until f22 actually learns about cars and what they are about, Ill be on him like white on rice...

no engine pics yet!!! i dont have possesion of the car yet. first off im moving to york, pa. in march and i cannot drive the lude up there. so i had my brother go get this hatch for me and it is waiting on me in pa. i will tell him to take pics of the engine and e-mail them to me and then i will post them. as for the lude im will be selling it in feb. for 1800. i will soon be posting pics of that also. i know its ricer looking and i will admit it. the motor is rebuilt and has about 2k miles on it.
Specs:
injen c.a.i.
ngk spark plugs and wires
greddy exhaust

my brother said the car runs great and seems to have no problems at all except for going into 3rd gear it kinda grinds but i will figure that out when i get there. as for everything else overall he said that it passed state inspection with no problem at all.

any recommendations as to what rims to go with or anything else?

Seriously... MAKE YOUR SHIT EASIER TO READ!

If you're into performance there's a site with wheel weights for basically every rim out there.

http://www.wheelweights.net/

I chose to go with the 17x8 fno1rc's because they are wide, lightweight, cheap and look good. Dani....i'm sorry

With a civic i'd go with 16's or some 17's just because they look odd with bigger rims....but maybe that's just me. I'd spend my money else where if i was buying that car

Good luck with the buy, start saving. Check for rust since it's an older northern car (just a suggestion)

PA. inspection checked for everything and it came out with a clean report.

Byrd

Trust me, i know inspections in the north..... it's not what you think. Not something you'll have to be overly concerned about but just something to keep in mind.

Also, get compression numbers before you buy that piece. You'll thank yourself later. And don't ask for the range it should be in, search and/or buy a Haynes manual. It might help with the grind and any other possible retarded questions you might have

the motegis arent the ugliest things ever, but I promise there are better looking, cheaper, lighter wheels out there...

Here at aSpeed, we don't mind helping out people who are honestly looking to learn about cars and performance. That said, this isn't the place to flood a forum with technical questions about your specific car, or incredibly basic car maintenence issues, etc.

If you have a genuine thirst for automotive knowledge, there is plenty to be had here...BUT GO TO AND ____SEARCH____ GOOD FORUMS FOR YOUR SPECIFIC CAR BEFORE YOU START ASKING "TECHNICAL" QUESTIONS. After that, just DON'T assume you know things and other people don't, and you'll be fine. (No, I don't know much about cars or driving in the scheme of things, but I find things out for myself and I don't assume that I know anything I don't know from first hand experience).

Personally, don't mind the newbs who give you a hard time for things they shouldn't give you a hard time about. But there are some things that you should've been given a hard time about...such as LEARN TO TYPE!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE. You don't have to be a scholar, but at least type with competence.

Wow, guys hes not ignorant or even stupid. Hes just plain retarded. You are buying a car with a motorswap, thats swapped into a POS. I bet the past owner drove the ever living piss outta that car, hence the grinding third gear. HAHA figure it out when you get there? Oh brother, you should find some stock wheels, tail lights, DO NOT BUY hids and save for a transmission.

What do you think goes on at these inspections? They tear the car apart and make the owner replace anything that looks remotely worn? I gurantee you the guy had a friend of a friend who does inspections look at it for 20 bucks. The first clue of that, is the fucking motor swap. Cars with swaps usually don't pass inspections. They are either missing the EGR, PCV, or the emissions are way off on the sniffer. They don't even look for rust. Search the Penn DOT Code for rust. Zero hits. I bet you 10 bucks with 100-1 odds it has rust. Hell the suby I got from Pittsburgh had the undercarriage pitted in rust and it was three years newer than that EK.

What the hell does your brother know about cars? Looks like another money pit to me. Whoever sold that to you saw you coming a mile away and was looking for someone just like you to sell that car too. LAUGHING OUT MOTHERFUCKING LOUD.

adam p

Sweet dude. What about the Rota Flights or the Rota D2?

The car is not missing the swap. I had my bro look at the block and is says b18c1.

Maybe the previous owner did know someone who does the inspection? I never thought about that. I will definately be checking into that tommorow.

Just throwing this out there but since when does a slight grind in third gear warrant a new transmission in a Honda lol?

Get some GM syncromesh tranny fluid and call it a day. That alone will probably fix it and even if it doesn't I assure you that you can slam the hell out of that transmission from now until infinity.

Fixed gear pop out in cold weather in my RSX. It's like buttah now for the last 30K miles and even these 13* mornings it's shifting like the day I bought it.

Listen to the guys giving honest advice. Get the car mechanically sound first, address any urgent cosmetic issues like rusting panels, replace the parts that are prone to failing at whatever mileage the car is at and then save your money up for a quicker car and keep the hatch simple, untouched and reliable. I'd just hang onto the hatch for a beater/DD and get something else to mess with.

I wouldn't even waste my time with that civic. Heck, I'm not even going to do anything (besides possibly hondata) to my car. Just not worth it.
