Pretty much. The car showed 0 oil pressure the night of the meet. Checked the oil and screen/filter and no shards. Went to check the oil pump and found the gears spin freely (oil pump is directly driven via the cam which is driven directly from the crank which means if it ingested oil, then my crank may be bent). The car will run, just not for long until it dies permanently. Its as if your heart stopped beating and you continued to live if you will, except the bearings in the car heat up and cause friction and lock up. Cars taking a road trip behind the Yota tomorrow back to the ham. There it will be examined more and see if anything can be done to save the engine.

I would think you sheared a pin off on the oil pump shaft, broke a cam gear or something, as a cast crank would break before it would bend...

HAHA! Sam's warehouse used to look like the place where RX7's and Volvo's go to die. There would seemingly be a new "corpse" every week.

New aSpeed rule: If your car dies, first thing you should check is the crank angle sensor.

Did your car not have the upgraded water pump with the metal impeller?
