so, mike, john, and i went on a backpacking trip up on the peak (approx 4400 ft) of tray mountain in north georgia. saturday night there were blizzard like conditions (20 mph winds and 5-8 inches of snow) so after sleeping thru that, we decided to leave the mountain asap to avoid having to drive on the melting snow (ice). well, we took a wrong turn on a road comming down the mountain and about half a mile down it we realized we made a mistake but there was no where to turn around and even if we could turn around, my truck wouldn't climb uphill over the obstacles we had just maneuvered over because it's 2 wheel drive and has street tires. after 2 hours of rock crawling, driving over deep ruts and washouts, driving through mudpits, and driving through a river we made it to the end of the road, which was actually the entrance, and saw the sign in the picture below...needless to say, we were very luck to avoid gettting stuck or breaking my truck on any of the numerous obstacles we had to cross.

here is a link to a phone video of me crossing one of the obstacles. it looked more intimidating than it turned out to be when we approached it.
