hopefully they recall the Z's chrome-ass door handles and replace them with ones that match the paint :roll:

I thought they shared a great deal of components...
Obviously slightly different skins, trim, etc but, why would they change the fuel tanks?

You thought wrong. :denied: They share alot less components than you would think. They are completely different skins due to the G35's larger dimensions. Basically they are different cars that share the same suspension (different spring and shock rates though), same engine (although one has slightly less horsepower), and a hanful of other components.

The reason they would not be affected:
The cars are different enough that they would not be made on the same assembly line, although it's very likely they are produced in the same building. Because the recall said that it was a problem with a line being "attached" to the fuel tank, it probably has nothing to due with the fuel tank. But if it is internal to the fuel tank, then it still might not affect the G35 due to it's longer dimensions. Almost always when they change dimensions of a car the fuel tank changes to compensate.
