Wasn't going to say anything but yeah, ouch.

Nice pics, it's a shame there's not better lighting in the parking deck.

I saw a Cayenne today downtown in Columbia. It was completely covered in mud/dirt/grass. It was pretty cool

Don't hate on the swirls, I just waxed/ clay-barred the car, so theirs no spiderwebs now. Besides everyone has them after you wash the wax off the car. BTW, AUbimmer, the Red E36 was my old car. The Cayenne S is my buddies, its quick...

Not really, just good at the google and have some ADHD tendencies when I have one of those weeks where I do not sleep well.

css style sheets can only hold your attention for so long, then its php login routines, then its moving mediawiki from one server to another, then it is setting up VLANs on the network backbone, then its check aspeed, then respond in a smart ass tone, then its back to style sheets. Rinse Repeat, oooo look a shiney!

Waxing and claybarring are a start but they won't remove major blemishes like those in the picture. You might be able to "cover" them up but they will eventually really take away from the overall reflection of the paint (because a rough surface doesnt reflect light well.) What's your method when you wash/dry/wax the car? Looks like the hood may have had a brillo pad taken to it at some point in the past. Your car should NOT, I reapeat, NOT look like that or have swirls after you wash it. If it does, there's something greatly amiss in your methods. If you care anything about the longevity of the paint or how the car will look in a few years, I would definitely consider a revision ;)

black is just a bitch, but if you hit it with clay bar and wax and it still looks like that. theres a problem.

and chase theres not e36 m3 in those pictures, unless he swapped mirrors on the red one. so you lose, forever, giveup.

OMG, a conversation about taking care of paint in a thread about pictures...

I have nothing to contribute about car washing/ waxing, or paint care for that matter...none of my cars have the best paint or care for that matter

that shot from the stair well is awesome:)

And it doesnt matter what color the light is...proper light setings on the camera can fix just about anything...atleast make it NOT suck uber yellow style:D

Keep the suggestions comin. I'm due for a pretty good detail, so hopefully I'll get it in better shape. Honestly, for everybody's car, its whats under the paint that matters...

At the most a little wet/color sanding/buffing will take care of that hood and the rest of the car
