I refuse to believe it. Why buy a car that sold for ~$40k a decade or more ago for more than twice the price? If it were a mint 80's car I might understand, but $105k is rediculous for even a Supra that's never been driven.

Some might consider my affection for the Supra on the level of fan-boy-ism, but I believe that this guy knows what he is doing in this purchase. The car will be worth WAY more than that in the coming years. I believe we will see the Supra at Barrett Jackson type auctions selling for highdollar prices in the next couple decades. A low mileage 98 Quicksilver 6speed is a rare and highly sought after piece.

Brandon mentioned to me today that it is April fools day and if you're were going to set something up like this you would have been smart to do it a few days in advance of the actual day.

Which further gave me a reason to disbelieve it. :D

I almost made my own thread today, but nobody would have believed me and I probably would have jinxed myself in the process.

There were only 24 Quicksilvers in the states. They were only made in 1998 in that color in a six speed. I can definitely see this car going for $105k.

I talked to the guy that bought it. He has been the coordinator for every Texas Supra meet since TX2K. He has the money and has another '98 Supra with only 8K miles. It is for real - I think he only paid $95K for it though. He just wants someone to think they got a good deal when he sells it.

Peter, meet him. Pretty cool guy. It was cool watching him and Obiwan (Ben) going at it too:dropjaw: Talk about a FAST car.

Too bad Kareem lost his oil filter in the top of 4th on the Beltway. I never seen cars move that fast until I went to TX2K7.

EDIT: 24 six-speeds, 9 automatics that year. So in all reality an auto would be slightly more rare.
