View Full Version : Mom is getting a new car.......
Within the next few months, the mother will be getting a new car. Want it to be sporty, 4 door'ed sedan that isn't too expensive to maintain. Price limit is around mid 40's. So far thoughts are A6 2.7t(almost got that last weekend, we told them to hold off), Acura TL Type-S, A4, BMW 5series, a mid entry Lexus(don't really like any of them), and some more cars. Anyone else have any ideas? Should be purchasing here pretty soon, maybe even this weekend, but definitely within the next 1-2 months

If it was me I would so go with the TL type S. My buddy has the CL type S and its just like the TL except with 2 doors. I drove it one time and felt so nice to drive something so quited and smooth. I would so get one. Thats just me, I always like the TL's and hopefully when I grad I too will be getting a new TL type S. WIth the BMW's, the 5 series are really nice from all I read and have seen. I wouldn really get one though if it was me b/c I would just wanna get the M5 then. But the plain 5 series would also be a nice choice though for your mother. With the lexus only thing I can think of that your mom would like would be the GS400 or 300 but not much more for the 400 so should just go ahead and dish out a lil more. My cuz has a GS300 and its really nice inside and out. Haven't had any problems every since she got it. Her little bro even said its got some pick up for just being a 300 but I would get the 400. With Audi's I have no clue. I just know from Tom at APR to slam it with 19's and you will be great!

Have you considered the Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. It has 240hp and 280lb. of torque. Can't go wrong there. I think my best time stock was a 14.9.

Get something not honda  , we all have our loyalties and rightfully so, I like the 2.7t the best.....high end hondas just don't do it for me, but this is for mom. 8)

And then you can blow your turbos within 50,000 miles. Oh yeah, I don't really think a "high end" Honda really exist. They're too practical and too performace oriented. :D HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Speaking of performance oriented, these German cars and car companies are pretty performance oriented...

Ever thought about a G35 sedan or something else that is VQ35 powered?
All the choices you have listed are good. You don't like the IS300? Or is that too small for you mom?

I never said German sports cars weren't performance oriented. Where in the hell did you come up with that? Looks like the only one who got "owned" was you.

Out of those choices I would go with the BMW 5 series hands down. My next choice would be the TL Type-S. My mom has a base TL and I absolutely love it and it pulls low 15's all day long which is nice.
Kicking tires this weekend, will post what they get interested in

I never said it was a fault. Apparently you can't take a joke. Everything has to be taken so seriously with you. I forgot that you can't take anything lightly and have to rub shit in people's faces. Nobody is losing anything Michael. I don't see what the big race is. The only thing you are losing is your maturity...and it shows in this thread. Notice the smiley faces next to my posts. Umm...that means I'm kidding. >>>>> :D
1. My response was in no way intense, I was merely stating a fact that I constantly recieve from people....the phrase "you drive a Passat" is old and dumb.
2. Apparently I am not the only one who takes things seriously, because you took my last post seriously when it wasn't a serious post....so take a look at what your telling me to do and apply it to yourself.
3. You can't lose maturity on the internet. Anyone who bases their opinion of someone off of the internet is retarded. Views should be formed in person where the person can fully express themselves visually as well as verbally so the one can get an idea of what type of person they truely are. It is different if I talked crap and lived in Cali. Then all you have to go off of is what I type, but any person reading this board could meet me at a SCAR meeting and decide what type of person I am from meeting me
4. Die
Don't take what I say to seriously, it is impossible for me to express feeling through words, unless your a god writer or something. My response was in not meant to be an asschewing, but more a question of why everyone keeps telling me "but you still drive a Passat."

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Michael, I need to apply some of these things to myself? No Annie, I don't think so. Anyways, I can base maturity over this whole thing. I know you in person and you take cars WAY to seriously. I don't know WTF this whole "I win you lose" thing is you keep playing but it is stupid. Remember? You're the one who slapped a dent in your brother's car just for e-braking your car. = mature. I think I'll fly up to Ohio real quick and slap a dent in Scott's car because he grinded my gears a couple of times and launched a few times. WOW!
Can't we all be firends?
I'm just kidding Michael. Don't take me seriously. I probably would have hit your brother. Not really. But anyways, welcome to the family of RICE! :D

I win you lose...its called being random, which you DEFINITELY are when talking to on AIM. It never came from the race that took place. You took my last post seriously, you took this post pretty seriously also, are you denying that??? You sure as hell freaked out. Also, anytime anyone downs the S2k, you go the hell off on them. You make sure I know my faults, I make sure you know yours. You know the type of person I am, so why push the buttons? BTW, if you don't mind, I would like to go take your car and go e-brake since you don't care.
And to think, all it takes is a simple sentence like this for you to go crazy....I think it is pretty obvious I am NOT freaking out here
