Alright guys, time to order me some new tires. What I have now are KDW2's and they are 245/40/17. I'm looking for something w/ good street performance but is kick ass on the track.

Discuss.

I'd say stick with the same tire or go with the Azenis.

Negative, KDW 2's like to chunk at the track...atleast if they are near or over 50%.

Define awesome street performance. The top dogs right now are the Advan Neova or Bridgestone Re-01r. Azenis are up there with them, but now quite the tire, but at the same time they come at much more of a price point. The MX wont compete with any of the 3 above mentioned, but it is a nice overall tire that handles heat well, is also inexpensive, and gives solid feedback.

Ive driven on MX's, Neova's, 615's, and RE-070's. If they made RE-070's in your size i would say re-070's fo sho, but they dont, so next in line are the Neova's.

I'de say if you have the $ to spend get the RE-01R's...if not the neova's rock tits like swine said. Personally i prefer the price of the azenis to all. I'll sacrafice a little for a street tire.

I think I'll order the Neova's... I'm more worried about on-track performance but need something good on the street as well.

I had to find a replacement key for my lug nuts first, as it sheared off when Randy was attempting to take the wheels off for the clutch/flywheel/LSD install. I couldn't find the company that manufactured the lugs until today, and ordered two replacement keys. Now I can think about tires :p

3 aspeeders have had KDW2s chunk, including myself

MXs are cheap as crap - all out grip is not quite the level of the azenis, hankook ventus, neova, but like swine said, they handle heat GREAT and are very consistent and responsive on the track for a great price. Cheap track enjoyment = Kumho MX. I've been to TGP on them on both my WRX and my S2000 and they were NEVER anything but 100% consistent.

proxy RA-1

That or the Axenis would be my choice... RA-1's if you got the $$, Axenis if you want them to last longer.
