Hey guys. I'm David and I drive a Red 1.8T GTI. I have been browsing through the forums for a few days now and I finally got out to the gtg last night. I only met a few of you, but hopefully I will be able to come to more meetings soon.
Right now my car is stock, unless you want to count CAI, and a DV as mods. Plans so far are APR 93 octane program, silicon boost hoses, TB exhaust (can't decide to go 2.5" or 3"), maybe APR's FMIC, I want to do some suspension work just to stiffen it up a little but don't really want to slam it. Basically I just want to get a little over 200 whp and leave it at that since its my daily.

Shit dude, if you're fucking around in the parking deck squeeling tires and shit, you need to ease the fuck back before someone does something to you that you certainly wouldn't appreciate. We've had enough problems with the cops recently and some of us are becoming short tempered as a result. If it wasn't you, then don't worry about it and make sure that you don't do it in the future. Other than that...welcome.

I worked at APR for a little while in the sales department and did a little traveling as a road bitch and went to a few shows. I may be a little biased, but I'd say that APR is the way to go. They stand behind their shit and make some seriously quality products. Nice car, maybe I'll see ya out there soon.

CAI = Cold Air Intake
I know it doesn't really do crap for a stock 1.8T except make noise, but it was on the car when I got it. I like noise so I kept it.

DV = Diverter Valve
I am not sure about other stock turbos, but VW uses these to recirculate excess boost instead of just blowing it into the atmosphere. The Forge one (the one I have) is a metal piston as opposed to the stock rubber diaphragm.

The car had an overkill Greddy FMIC on it too, but I took it off and replaced it with the stock side mount.

Yes we have a very large fucking problem with that. We have several POLICE incidents from FUCK tard drivers acting like idiots on the deck.

A)we like that spot and dont want to kicked out of it.
B)aspeed as a group is not an anti-police group, we realize they have a job to do and are people as well.

If you fuck around on the parking deck, the police automatically assume the Aspeed group is responsible, and they draw the conclusion that we are irresponsible and dangerous, and that we should be not allowed to have our meet there.

:bang: you took something off that worked too well and put on something that is inefficiant from the factory?

Yeah I took it off cause the tard that put it on hacked some stuff up and made it look really bad. He cut away part of the bumper and a lot of the bottom valence so that about two inches was exposed on the bottom. And then on top of that he mounted the boost sensor on the very bottom facing the road. By the time I got it, the boost sensor connector was almost completely broken.

In hindsight I could have fixed everything and kept it on, but I was able to make $600 selling it to some guy in Texas.:D

Eh...maybe so, but the chip alone will get me close. And the some of the other stuff has nice sound effects that come as a bonus with the power...usually a plus in my book.

HAHA...Yeah its kinda loud for stock. Most of that is because of the 3" air intake it has on it. (again, it was there when I got it, plus its carbon fiber so it looks pretty cool too.)
