Yeah the SCCA PDX was like an open track day, $250 a person I believe.

And the motor spins up so quickly that it creates a gravitational pull, drawing the front wheels in towards it.;)

hehe, I was movin pretty quick aside from the straights. First session the track was still cold so we were all kinda squirmey. But the next few I was able to get some heat in the tires, and i was able to get point bys from boxters, a caymen, m3's and a C6 Z06 that i lost after a few laps.
Well, the only way I can get anything respectable out of the car we brought(affectionately called "The BWAAAA") is by threshold trail braking and carrying a disgusting amount of speed through the corner. Its not too blazing in the straights but, it can enter faster then almost any other car i've seen.
Anywho, the section with the left turn downhill switchback that finishes with the one that goes right up and over the tunnel(turn 13) then down again was kinda tricky and we had been trying different lines, speeds etc.. all day. I finally got it to the point where I only let off the throttle and hit the brakes right before the switch back on the straight and trail braked a little going into it. Then I can get back on full throttle right away and carry through all the way till right before the pit entrance.
So I probably should have stayed on the brakes just a hair longer on the "final lap" because when I cut back right after diving into the switchback, I missed my apex (which is all the way up the bumper on the backside if I apex late enough) because I was carrying a little too much speed. When I got to the top of the hill right before the track out berm, my rear driver tire got into the grass... :O Well, the tunnel makes it almost impossible not to hit a tire wall if you spin because there's not enough room for runoff. And then there's my magnetic attraction to walls, whatever car I seem to be in :tard:... But I did manage to correct enough to bring the car's spin into the inside wall instead of the outside wall and shed some speed off in the process.
No one was seriously hurt, but my instructors helmet did get turned and the buckle cut his chin all the way down to the bone. The day still ended up being a blast in spite of however. The car was only $1300 when we bought it anyways so in the years we've been beating the hell outta it we kinda got our moneys worth. We have stuff on that car we can cannibalize over to the k-eg anyways and may be able to get some decent money out of the engine tranny, etc…

How about a few pics of the carnage. Let's see how big of a hit it took to put poor little "Bwaaaa" out of her misery.
