View Full Version : Finally, honda introduces a turbocharged production vehicle
Too bad its made for the water :(
"The world's first turbocharged personal watercraft, the new AquaTrax F-12X, pumps out 30% more horsepower. And this three-passenger machine is filled with technology that's pure genius: including a refined hand-laid hull design, an off-throttle steering system, a selectable speed limiter and an electronic keyless ignition system."

Yeah what does your car run in the 1/4 again? :o
Keep in mind that my car doesn't get traction till it's 1/2 way through second gear and that when I ran that 14.3, my tranny was on it's deathbed and the 60' time was 2.6 seconds. I hang with and usually edge out brand new GT's, can hang with Z28's on the street and most car's tires would separate at my interstate "cruising" speeds but I'll let you be the judge of what's fast and what's slow.

A 2.6 60' time on an automatic RWD car that only has enough power to trap 97mph!? :? That sounds like some major traction issues and for no reason I can think of. Especially one thats not putting out that much power and is RWD. Are you sure thats right? If it is I'd have to say that there are some driver issues. Or as mean people say "sounds like a personal problem".

In all honesty, I wish it were a driver problem but unfortuately, it's Ford's problem that they didn't fix until 1999.
Only the 99+ engines are worth a damn because they got high flow heads. A headswapped 96~98 GT bone stock otherwise runs consistent high 13's. Not bad for $1500 considering they run low 15's from the factory. Even worse are the pre 96 GT's with the 5.0L. They could only muster mid 15's in stock trim yet also go nuts after a head swap. Me and kenny watched pass after pass of brand new GT's running mid 14's and even 15's in brand new GT's a few weekends ago at the stangnet and LS1 shootout in Montgomery.
Also, keep in mind that these cars don't have all that much power.
96~98 GT's dyno 190 RWHP
99+ GT's dyno 220 RWHP
It's just all the torque that they have that make the cars "feel" fast.
Also, my tranny was on the threshold of hell for like 8 months. I bitched about it to everyone and their sister. When the car was warm, it would jerk back and fourth in and out of 3rd and OD. If I let the car cool, it would go into 3rd but bog down and not pull.
I've only done the basic bolt ons to use what anemic power the puny heads are capable of flowing as they are. If I decide to keep my car, believe me, a head swap is not very far away. But until I get money to put the new diff and gears in, the 14.3 remains.

I wasn't talking about your cars lack of power or poor head design. I was talking about the 2.6 60'. I don't understand how the car could have that bad of traction issues.

hha yeah i know. for a second there, i thought you were gonna be the first person on this forum to take something seriously in quite a while.
Yeah my 60' times suck because my tires were almost bald when I was racing. I'll need new tires soon because when the 4.10's go in, it's just gonna be that much more torque multiplication and that much less traction.
