View Full Version : 12.494@115.54mph
Figured 20deg colder temps would have bumped my trap more than .7mph(previous best was 115.35mph, todays best was 115.900mph), but I guess that is the nature of n/a cars....or maybe just a stock vette, I dunno. Either way, let the mods begin as I have no desire to try to best this time stock. Run breakdown below:
R/T: 1.169
60': 2.082(previous best was 2.076)
330: 5.462
1/8: 8.222
MPH: 90.85
1000: -----
1/4: 12.494
MPH: 115.54

Haha nice runs man!

We're really closely matched. You have me in mph in the 8th. Not really sure what happened there
My car has something called Torque Management. When I shift aggressively, the car pulls timing to "protect" the driveline and proggressively feeds it back in(I wanna say it closes the throttle plate a tad too). Its not TOO bad in the lower gears(first through third). However, when I shift to 4th gear fast, the car actually flat out pauses before gathering itself and going. Many other people have reported the exact same characteristic and noted its demise once the car is tuned(and TM has been shut off). Thats why the car just never wants to trap/et all that well for its weight/power. They say shutting off TM alone is good for ~.2sec because of its intrusiveness.

It's weird how shit happens like that. Last time I was at MMP I had a better 60', 1/8 time and mph than Justin but he managed to pull me by a few hundredths of a second in the 1/4. Hmm.
Nice times on the C6

Good times, 'specially for a stock car.
On a side note, I f'ing hate Torque Management (TM). You think yours is bad, the stock setup on the LS1 F-Bodies was absolutely horrible, specifically in A4's.
I've had mine about 85% tuned out for almost three years. 250+ drag passes w/o it. Go get it turned off, ASAP, and don't worry about your transmission going out. Mine hasn't, even with 37k hard miles on it. :D
Not worried at all about the tranny going out. And for reference sake, this is the most aggressive version of TM GM has ever put on any of there performance cars;) . These LS3's make the most power for a standard C6 rearend(which is weaker due to less bracing than a C5 rear).

Yea, but you have an RX-7. Everything blows up on those.

Well, i ran that time last winter...but yeah. Only my 2nd car, my first car i wouldnt trust putting it through that abuse with that kinda tq.
If the tranny cooperates appropriately in the new car and can click off a few quick shifts and a decent launch with the new turbo...i should be able to beat that time. But the dirt beast should still have that time in the bag with his new mods.
with his new mods.

I have 100% of the TM removed from my truck with 24 in wheels. If anything is going to be hard on a tranny me and that would be. Plus I have pulled with it a couple times since having it removed and it is fine. I would like to have the tranny built though because even without the TM is lays over between gears a little bit. It isn't too bad but I like a snappier shift than just bumping the line pressure in the tranny.

Nope, I haven't been to Birmingham in quite some time.
