Made it today at work. Completely seals off my intake and mates with my hood. Made from 11ga galvanized steal(yes, I did say 11ga.) So far, I have yet to even heat the metal, I have been pounding on the car all day and have had the turbo do some nice glowing action, the metal facing the turbo was warm, the metal in the intake side cold to the touch. Here are pics, not the prettiest because of the gasketing I used from work, but hey, form follows function in this case.

Sounds and looks like it works. Wonder how much of a difference it made? Might have to start taking up some orders.

Looks like you're blocking some of your airflow. Otherwise looks nice (Well, doesn't 'look' nice, but you know what I mean. :D )

I will be fixing the airflow problem in the form of tubing running from the front spoiler up to the filter. Like Jamies setup, but with 2.5" tubing, retaining the pollution pump, and some handi-grinding

How does the car handle now. I bet with that heat sheild it handles like a dream. Im not real sure but i think you might have gotten a little more out of some exhaust bushings.

I think form WAS following function, but function ran a redlight and form didnt want to follow because it had too many ticktets and didnt want another one. j/k

im no metallurgist, but wouldnt aluminum be better? or better yet, two sheets of foamcore sandwiched inbetween 2 sheets of aluminum. You'd be able to keep drinks cold in there

Concerns with foam catching fire. I am already concerned about the gasketing I am using, so I think I am going to replace it. Anyone know how Neoprene gasketing takes to heat?

Looks good Michael. I think I would have made it out of Al as well, but thats ok. I dunno about neoprene. The stuff you're using is probably fine, just clean up your cuts if you want it to be prettier.
