About a month ago I came across a guy named Matt Walker from www.neweclipse.org. He drives a new Eclipse GTS with i/h/e. We've been kepping in touch and he seems very eager to go to Little Taladega which as everone know is the little gran prix course up there. Both Chappy and Michael have mentioned it to me as well. If we can get ten people to go I think it may cost around $120.00 a person. I suggested to Matt that it would be best to go now or in the fall when it is still a litlle cool outside. We would have no instruction and three cars are only allowed on the track at a time. We've been putting this off forever but I still think I would be a blast. Maybe I can even talk my dad into doing it. If Greyson and Matt could maybe talk to some guys from APR that would be cool. I just want to go really bad. Who is up for it!?!?!?!?! :D

Well, it looks like we're going to shoot for fall. The temps are going to be a little cooler and it will give people time to decide what they want to do and time to prepare their cars for total abuse. I'll keep everone informed. :D

I just got off of the phone with the owner of the track and if we go on a weekday we can run for $1,000 and if we go on a weekend it's going to cost us $1650. I don't care when we do it as long as we have ten people.

Yeah i know Matt Walker, he's a pretty cool guy.
I might consider going out there, but I'm not making any promises.
That $100 doesn't include the new brake pads and fluid I'm gonna need along with whatever else I tear up. I'm just afraid at this point that I have bigger and better things to do with my cash... :wink:

Besides, we'll probably end up taking the FSAE cars to Talladega or the kart track in Decatur around the same time.

Okay, I have been getting typical excuses from people about not wanting to go to the track. "I don't want to hurt my car" is the number one excuse right now. Most of the guys on the RSX board keep using that excuse. Just to let everyone know, you're not going to hurt your damn car. It's going to take some abuse but it will not suffer any long term effects from being beat on. Brakes and tires are the only things that are going to take the most abuse. If you go out there and think you are Shumacher you may end up dead but I don't think any of us are that stupid. What's the point of owning and modding a car if you're not even going to use it for the right reasons. I hope it wasn't bought to look at or bought to brag about. For those that are interested, please come out and have some fun. I am trying to get this organized so we can have a field day this fall. Who is up for it!?!?!?!?!

Ya'll ought to think about getting together with AERC and renting the track. I would make each persons cost very reasonable. I know that there are some people interested in it over there.
