Apparently russia also thinks there is a new arms race about to dawn again.

Maybe we should have sent them a message attached to a high speed rocket propelled vehicle, unmanned of course.

Turboprop bombers??? LOL. Hard to believe that the creators of the SU-27 still have pos turboprop bombers. Heres hoping they don't try to actually put some effort into making a capable bomber as it would likely better the best of ours in every way......other than a good operating system and "stealth"

Russians never throw shit away. Its not quite like its a lend-lease B-17 they are flying around in; the TU-95 is still plenty capable of getting a missile off the rail and on target. Hell the TU-95 is only two years older than the B-52 and like the B-52 has been constantly modified and improved since then.

Russia with Putin at the helm has engaged in a lot of saber rattling again in restarting a lot of their long range reconnaissance flights. I'd put them on the short list of people who will gladly start shit up again. I doubt it would be to Cold War levels but for sure they are making people go "hey wait they do still have a lot of good hardware and pilots."

That and the tu-95's have a top speed of 590mph...which is haulin for a prop plane.

The thought of either of the Democratic candidates having to handle the global political climate that's headed our way in the next 4-5 years is a little too much for me to stomach right now http://www.3si.org/forum/images/smilies/new/icon_confused.gif

What ever. Every country has a moment that it has to show its ass and how big their cock is every once in a while. Maybe the Russians were waving at them you know? I mean who says that buzzing an aircraft carrier means, hey mang, you gunna throw the first punch or what?

As for cold war II?
Im not a big fan of it after seeing crimson tied if you know what I mean right?

I wouldnt be concerned about Russia though, but those Chinese subs kinda worry me if you catch my drift.

Prop propulsion is far more efficient than jet propulsion although not at fast.

How so? Jets engines compress the air, which requires more fuel, but has a far greater thrust output as well.

I don't know much (PILOT = Pretty Ignorant Lots Of Training) but props are more efficient at lower altitudes and loose their efficiency as altitude increases, jets are more effecient at higher altitudes and loose their effeciency as altitude decreases, turbo props gain effeciency over props at altitude but are still limited by the prop, and turbo fans gain effeciency over jets at lower altitudes.

Air density for the FTMFL, unless your a rocket, in which case air density FTMFW. Can someone post a detailed link showing the breakdown between the two? I would like to see the pro's and con's.
