Well, Sprint sux0r donkey balls. When you can connect and get a good signal it's supa clear. But that's pretty hard to do.

Cingular isn't bad. It's not super clear but you can almost always understand the other person. You can talk almost anywhere due to their no roaming plans. They just started implementing GSM.

Hmm, last time I checked, you had cingular or whatever down here. Eitherway, I have Sprint and it rocks. I don't get that busy crap that happens to the cingular people on busy nights and it hardly ever drops calls. Plus, it isn't cingular...

My cingular hasn't dropped calls or given me busy signals since last year.

I don't think their phones are that great, and they have no sim card which is a pain, but the service is pretty good now.

That's because I dumped that shit and picked up cingular.

Sprint has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They have even hung up on me, no matter if I was being nice or not. I talked to one lady and told her that I couldn't call out between the hours of 9-12, and she looked up my bill and saw that I had called out between those hours. I explained that it took me about 25-30 tried to get out and she was like I'm sorry it's an inconvience to you, but you are able to use the service. I said I got my cell phone as a convience not the other way around. At that point she said sorry and hung up.

The other thing is the people in the store have no say. For basically everything they tell you to call customer service. Maybe Sprint has gotten better since then, but when I had it it sux'd both in Auburn and Cincy.

Cingular isn't the greatest and I don't like anything to do with Bellsouth, but I was limited to plans and prices. When I was in Auburn, I had very little trouble with it. Eventhough their clarity isn't the greatest and the phones aren't either, you can at least understand the other person and talk to them. I can go anywhere that my phone picks up a signal and use it free of charge. You pick up a signal just about anywhere. With my traveling and my budget, the only real choice for me was Cingular. I hate being locked in a two year contract, but I feel that if I could make it a year and half with Sprint, I could do 2 years with anyone.

Since summer of last year Cingular has been opening up their GSM towers. They are in the process of switching over, but they will have GSM, TDMA, and analog running for a while still. They are the only ones to implement a GAIT system, which allows (using GAIT enabled phones) you to use GSM, TDMA, and analog without dropping your signal. My next phone will be a GAIT so I can pick up the clarity of GSM and the convience of a SIM card, and I won't be stuck to just cities and highways.

In the cell phone market right now, all you can do is choose the lesser of evils. The all sux0r in one area or another. Also, you might want to consider if and where you travel to. If I remember, Jess, you are from the Carolinas and Cingular has a large GSM and TDMA market there.

i have 300 daily and 3k nights and weekends and pay 30 dollars a month.

300 isnt really enough but i try to be careful and not talk during the day. I call att up and see how many minutes i use, they just tell me total, not broken down into daily and night minutes.
