Had a great time with Andy, Brent, Chico and the girls that rode down with us... It was a great victory for the racers from Montgomery.. Brent won the street tire class and Andy came in second to a 9 second 154+mph civic from TX.. Andy "Mr.Consistance" Ran 3 10.3's back to back to back and the car ran great but in the end he was just out powered by the 42r civic running 45psi.. Brent stuned as the rest of us were when the first pass the car started a bad skip. The next pass the car detonated real hard due to a cloged Meth injection nozzle and hurt the engine "number 6 is toast". But pulled out all the stops against another 11 second supra and got him off the tree for a victory in the street tire class.

I will get some video up later this week

Awesome to hear guys. So I guess you had a little more competition than just a mid 12 second rx-7 this year in the RWD class?

Yeah,I had a great time down there.I got alot of the 10 sec honda run's and all of brents run's,Also shot some of the supra and the car show. There was also 2 r33 skylines and a r34 skyline,i got one of the r33's on the dyno.I didn't manage to get any of the Dorifto action tho.

The Rx7 wasn't even there .The fastest car in brents class was the supra that ran 11.9 and behind that was a turboed S2000 that ran high 12's and then a few other cars that ran 13's

I was told that the RX7 in question can run 10's, but is real inconsistent. Too bad he didnt show, this was the slowest street tire class I've seen at an IFO event in quite some time. The bump at MMP last Nov. was 11.80 or so, I qualified 2nd yesterday on a 12.4, letting off on the top end because of the jackhammer noise coming out from under the hood

Won the race on an 11.6 @ 126, thats all the car would run on the same boost it trapped 132 on a few weeks ago. I think it holed out the #2 & #6 cylinders, the meth nozzle on that side got stopped up with debris from the reservoir on the first pass. Methanol "experiment" = OVER :emo:

Anfermy shot a bunch of video with my camera, I'll post some in a day or so also.

Haha Andys car ran perfect all day, & mine blew up.....WTF :D :wiggiesmo

edit: Its OK Rob, I need to put internals in it anyway, so I wasnt too worried about it. I was gonna win that race if I had to scatter that bish all over the track, it smoked worse & worse on every run haha

Man, thats awesome. Im glad you guys both walked outta there with doughla.

What kinda times were the all motor guys running?

Sucks about your car Brent, but i guess with the kinda power you were putting through that poor stock bitch, it was bound to happen when something went wrong.

Thats also cool about Andys car, whats scary is, he has a lot of time left in it too as he keeps getting it dialed in.

Brent, what are your plans for the new motor? You should put a 3.7L 6G72 in it :repost: :D

I've gotta tear it down & see how badly dinged up it actually is........at this point I'm thinking CP pistons, Eagle rods, ACL Calico bearings, & I'm currently doing some cam research, I want 272/9.5 JUN's but I think I'm gonna work JWT over to see if they'll split a set up for me, I wanna run a higher duration on the exhaust side but no one makes a set like that. If I bore it as much as possible it will be around 3.2L & more oversquare, I plan on being able to turn it 8K rpm or even slightly higher with the cams & head work I'm gonna do.

Of course my biggest real issue is still the trans, I put another one in it before the race & this one wont shift into 3rd above 7200 or so rpm, soooo apparently rpm/hp is becoming an issue for the stock 5 speed. I'm once again batting around some options for putting an auto in the car, quite possibly a built/convertered RE4R03A Nissan trans........but I really want a TH400.

Scratch that I really really want a Grex or HKS sequential 6 speed. But that aint gonna happen :(

Congrats guys. Monkey town is turning into a slew of fast cars with very unique setups and some custom built hot rods(properformance). Maybe we have the next Houston, Tx in the making :)

I am not saying Monkey town will ever have the prestige that the Houston cars have, but if you think about it, we do have some seriously quick/unique rides in town. Having a drag strip local, a bunch of pretty quick local cars, fab shops capable of producing very professional setups, and a growing population could inject some serious growth for the car scene down there.
