Sorry but you guys missed out big time. Clint, Mike, and my friends Brett, Matt, and Lee all had a blast. The track layout was extremely fun and very fast. We have videos of most of it.
Mike made a VERY impressive showing in the Cav and got many compliments. Due to his mods he was running in Street Prepared which is a little out of his league but he showed them what was up by placing THIRD  out of six at his first event ever! In fact he was just 2 seconds off the Acura NSX which has competed in at least 3-5 events 8) . Gotta give him props of driving skill.
The R was running in STX against another fairly seasoned Type-R/S2000 owner and 4 Impreza WRX's one of which was piloted by seasoned driver and the saftey admin for the event. My first run I was concentrating on being nice and smooth. I accomplished that but when I got around the other Type-R and WRX had me by a second or so. The next run with Alicia in the car I tried heel n toeing to first but screwed it up (time to change tranny fluid) and ended up popping out of gear. I struggle to get it in and wound up putting it in third and stalling the car. I cranked her back up and took of pissed as hell and ate up the rest of the track. After that embarrassing run I wasn't holding back and being pissed off showed me that I could take it alot harder. The next run I let it all hang out and posted a 46.7sec time. That put me ahead by about 1 second and non of the other drivers were able to close the gap. So after 3 events I have a 1st place finish in Solo II STX.
Hopefully Mike can recall his own helmetless adventures.

Sounds like fun guys, one of you want to let me drive your car next time? :D
Congrats Mike, i'm impressed, and i'm glad to hear the Cav showed out like it did. After all, my last car before the Audi's was a 96 Cavalier that I drove like a bat out of hell!

thanks brock for the props, and thanks for the comps guys. I HAD THE AN AWESOME TIME! i'll be back next month. man, drag racing has nothing on this...lol. what a great experience, i feel i learned so much today and hopefully many more lessons to come!
Brock i was very impressed with your runs and driving skill. you also did a great job and went up against some tuff competition at the same time. taking home 1st place in that class is NICE!
As for the helmetless run...   .....
that was interesting. i thought they gave you the helmet when you pull up to the line i didn't know you got it yourself. the helmets were just kinda lying there..lol by the time i got up to the line...i forgot and ran my first run ever without a helmet!
lol.....good times :D

Seriously you can have 2-3 driver cars. If you want to drive my car at the next event just let me know. You "European" guys are loaded anyway so I'm not really worried about you messing it up. I'll have to think about the making out thing but the answer is probably no.

Dude, i'd love to drive your car, seriously!
I really worry about my car without a frontmount. I know Autocross allows for a pretty good bit of cool-down time between each lap, but it still worries me. I'll autocross it one of these days, and probably get it on Road Atlanta too (Took my last A4 out there once, it was a lot of fun). But I bet your car is a lot more fun on those tight autocross courses than mine anyway! :D

Congrats to both Brock and Mike. SCAR representing in B'ham and you could not have asked for two better drivers!! Mad props to the both of you. I want to see the footage. Sorry that i backed out but 1) i have less money than what i thought and still have books to buy. 2) Clairice is sick and would not have faired too well. Hopfully i will have her running right by Friday.

brock explained his experience so i thought i'd share mine.
this was my plans on each run:
1st run - not wear a helmet and live to tell about it!  oh and try not to hit ever cone on the coarse. CHECK. time: unsure
2nd run - wear a helmet . try to speed it up and make smooth runs. actually hear my time. :D CHECK. time: 51 sec.
3rd run - keep learning the coarse while driving fairly agressive. enter the 90 degree turn with more exit speed. CHECK. time: 51 sec
4th run - push it hard through the slolums. drive very aggressive. BREAK into the 40's. NOT CHECK time: 50 sec.
Biggest accomplishment of the day ....I DIDN'T HIT ONE CONE!!! :D
