Awesome engine, love the fab work too. Not a fan of the body really, but the engine makes up for it.
I love that engine, reminds me of Jim Clark's Lotus Ford, and Mario Andretti's winning Ford in 1969.
But, the guy is smoking crack when it comes to HP numbers; those engines made 500 HP max back in the 1960s, and that was on methonal. Gasoline will be less power. I think the last time the engine was raced was 1970. Nobody in racing came close to 1000 HP (probably only 900 or so) until the mid 1970s, and those were bigger displacement engines in Can Am.
F1 in the 1980s was the first time 1000 HP was certainly broken.

I've seen one of those motors at the Barber museum along with a Cosworth Ford Zetek F1 motor from the 80's. I had to look at it a while to figure to figure out what it was because it was down in one of the work areas in the first floor and setting on a work bench.
Nice car with a nice motor even though the guy is FOS on the power output. At the end of the run in the 70's this guy says about 800HP: http://www.cushmancompetition.com/255Parts.html
This guy says about the same thing. http://quadcamford.com/quadcam.html Also note he says they ran 80 inches of boost which is about 40psi or 2.8 BAR :O :35: nice low boost number there.
EDIT:
I'll fix this later, nothing you cannot see on the other sites though. I changed them to links since the stupid image gallery being a PITA and not displaying directly linked pics.

Cool sites Grider. I guess that engine lasted a few years later than I thought.

That is so remarkable of a combination that I am pretty much speechless.
