Well, this past weekend Dad and I finally drove the IS300, G35 6 speed, and TSX back to back.
We both agreed that overall the TSX was the hands down winner in spite of being the least powerful and the only front-driver.
So Dad is now leaning toward getting a black one with the spoiler and the 5 spoke graphite wheels. Should look good. My dad's not really the mod-ing type, but i'm still curious about the aftermarket for these cars. CAI's and exhausts in particular. What's out there, and what's good? Keep in mind, this is for a relatively conservative 50+ year old guy.

Hondata will be available soon and Comptech will have springs and exhaust out shortly. The K24 should respond to mods better than any other Honda production engine. Can't wait to see what it will do. :D

Why's that?

Do your research bitch! Well, the K series motors are the newest of the Honda line and have been responding the to mods the best out of any other engine that Honda has produced. Hondata for example...I get a little over 200WHP with just an ECU flash and intake.
The main reason is because of the TSX's 2.4. I thought the genius would have known this!

Ah, I see... the intake should give the K24 2hp gain as opposed to 1hp, and the ECU gives 3hp as opposed to 2hp.

Need I bring out dynos! A Hondata ECU flash for my car and a cai puts down around 200WHP. One guy with those exact mods ran a 13.9@101 along with others who have run similar times. That's only $850.00 worth of mods. A Hondata ECU flash for my car is pretty much the same thing as an Audi/ VW being "chipped." The K series motors have more potential than you think.
Check out this package for my motor. It is a little pricey but with 320-330 HP at the crank, I don't really see any complaints. Oh, and it's all NA. It's predicted to run low 13's at around 109. We'll see though. It's not like I'll ever get it anyway.

Speaking of TSX, has anybody seen the new Motor Trend this month? It's the TSX vs. Saab9-3 vs. Mercedes 230. They only ran 16.0@88 with the TSX and it was the fastest of the group. That's the most bogus shit I've ever seen in my life. The Saab ran like a 16.2@88 as well. AWFUL! Car & Driver ran a 15.3@93 with the Saab and a 0-60 in 6.7. What is wrong with these people. MT usually has the fastest times.

There are two engines offered in the new Saab. I'm guessing the two magazines tested the two variants. The 93mph trap sounds about right for the 9-3 Vector(~215hp). The other motor is around 180hp I think.
